Theory
Social interaction plays a huge role in development of cognition. The zone of proximal development is increased when a child has social interaction. Also scaffolding and is when someone may need a little bit of coaching to succeed in a task.
Importance of Theory
The students exposure to interacting with others helps them develop cognitively. So we should focus on having students interacting with each other so they can learn from each other. Also we shouldn’t always assume our student can’t complete a task because of a little struggle they might just need a little coaching to successfully complete it.
